Manifesto
There is good music and bad music created
throughout all musical periods regardless of ones tastes in music.
Children like all kinds of music as long as it is good. It can be Bach
or it can be Rock. They know what is good and will listen to it. They
know what is bad and won't listen to it.
You can't become a famous composer or famous musician without being good.
There are no flukes. You can be good and even great and not become famous.
Music always expresses emotion.
Music is created by humans and by nature. When dinosaurs roamed in prehistoric
times music was the rhythm of the rains. Birds make music and humans imitate
it.
Music helps plants to grow. Even bad music. Even bad plants.
Listening to Mozart makes you smarter. Everyone knows this.
No one is the greatest. But someone is always great and someone is always
greater. No one is the greatest. No one has ever heard everything.
Maybe Frank Sinatra was the greatest. ( I'm thinking you can't have maybe's
in manifestos)
A sprinkle of silence is one of the most important elements of music.
(I forgot to mention this element in my last assignment).
Einstein determined that music was the most important thing.
Most musicians wish they were cello players instead.
The human voice is the most beautiful musical instrument. The best music
is live music. Mediocre live music is better than great recorded music.
You need to be there.
Someday there will be no live music. Someday music will equal electricity.
It's getting that way now.
Jerry Branting.
