Control Tower

There are places arranged to offer an outlook on actions, events, and processes occurring in the open space, on airports, roads, inside the stores, on parking spaces, in surgical theaters, or hospital beds. They secure a spam-safe communication and a safe concert hall performance. In a given environment and at one point in time you can see multiple events going on in a synchronic but independent way. Sometimes you may be aware of things that are going to happen but you cannot influence or prevent their outcome. Computing science professionals and software developers are working on advancing security of such environments and efficiency of responses to the unwanted events or actions. Physicians now consult their colleagues from a restaurant, having an access to their patients’ test results. A physician would know whether a patient’s pacemaker works well, and would monitor a glucose level in a diabetic patient; a family or a nurse would apply a motion detector to know that an old person didn’t fell down.

There are toys that show the world as if through an insect’s eyes. They may show our own room in many views combined into a whole. Such a look on our room transports us into another world where our imagination can rule the laws of physics. We may feel free from danger or threats coming from unknown sources. It may change our sense of security.

When we enter the world of insects, our ability to have multiple views may provide us with a feeling of having control over things occurring in these new surroundings. Having control means we have power and force, and thus we feel safe. Multiple views of an event allow us to control a situation.
