Sheets of Rain
Heavy rain falls in sheets that seem to bring
colors. Drops create intricate structures and exquisite laces when they
linger on our eyelashes. The order of the raindrops on a windshield metaphorically
resembles the grow of organic forms at a Petri dish, or a network of chloroplasts
in plant cells that altogether use light to produce 100 terawatts of energy
per year, seven times more than the yearly power consumption of human civilization.
With the rain-induced mood, one may ponder about biological codes as compared
with digital systems.
