Yves taught topics related to the origin
of music making: Ancient Music. Early humans had two ways of making sounds:
with the mouth and the hands. They could sing, whistle, pop, whist, hands
click, bang, slap and hit with anything they could grasp. Location and
environment effects were like echo: hours of slap back. It was an entertainment
for mouth and hands. All was related to approximation and accompaniment.
Yves taught the classes by having his students try everything they’d
discussed. Since no instruments were needed, no extra cost was required
for these classes; they were one of the most popular ones.
