Andrea
plays oboe in a high school Orchestra directed and conducted by
her music teacher Doran. This year, the
orchestra will travel to several countries to play classical music. Students
will perform in several places and visit some cities' well-known places.
They will visit Zum, Strom, Paser and Bugu. Parents are thinking hard on
how to help the participants earn money for the trip. Some students earn
money playing at weddings, anniversaries, and other family events. Part
of the orchestra is invited to play at the university's homecoming event.
Some parents work together with their kids in a bingo place to help there.
Andrea’s father, oboist Colin,
helps in finding inexpensive fares for the students and arranging to keep
coaches, rooms and food available at specified times. For many, the trip
was one of the best experiences during high school. Doran
made some arrangements for his orchestra to perform
for various schools and churches while on the trip. When Andrea graduated
from her high school, Colin
invited Giovanni and Jeanne to
play at her graduation theme party. Andrea printed the pictures taken during
the tripin a really, really large format and hung them all over the place.
And, of course the best photo served as a backdrop for Giovanni
and Jeanne's performance.
